About african.systems

african.systems is a community space for African history, political and economic systems, cultural practices, and the futures we are actively building. Think of it as a digital museum crossed with a discussion hall — open to historians, hobbyists, students, and practitioners.

What we cover

Eight domains, seven eras. From ancient empires and medieval kingdoms to colonial disruption, independence movements, and contemporary debates on food sovereignty, urbanization, and governance. Threads explain, argue, and propose. They are written carefully — not as hot takes, but as long reads worth your evening.

Who we are

A small editorial team curates featured threads and verifies contributors. We don't moderate taste — we moderate accuracy, sourcing, and good faith. Disagreement is welcome. Bad faith is not.

Get involved

Read a few threads. Find a contributor whose work you respect. Then write your own. The platform is small by design; quality compounds.
