What we collect

When you register, we collect your username, email address, and password (hashed — never stored in plain text). When you write threads or set up a contributor profile, we store the content you provide.

Analytics

We use analytics to understand how readers find threads and which subjects they want more of. Analytics are gated behind cookie consent — if you decline, no analytics data is collected. We do not sell data.

Advertising

Google AdSense loads on every page. Until you accept the consent banner, ads serve in non-personalized mode using Google Consent Mode v2. After accepting, ads may be personalized using cookies set by Google.

Cookies

We set a session cookie for authentication and a consent cookie that records your analytics preference. Until you accept the consent banner, no third-party analytics cookies are set; AdSense may set non-personalized ad-serving cookies before consent.

Tipping & payments

Tips are recorded against contributor profiles. Cashout (when enabled for verified contributors) may pass payment data to a regulated payment processor — we never store full card or bank details.

Third parties

We may display Google AdSense advertisements (consent-gated). Google's privacy policy governs data collected by their advertising systems.

Data retention & deletion

Account data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion by emailing reach-us@african.systems.
